The last keeps the big toe properly aligned and lets all five toes splay on impact, supporting stability and power transfer, while a sleek profile trims the bulk and unwanted movement common in wide-toe-box shoes for a more secure, responsive fit. The Natural Running Platform encourages a midfoot strike, and a smooth rocker delivers a more connected ride. A proprietary injected rubber outsole — lighter than traditional solid rubber yet abrasion-resistant — pairs with a new ZENCELL midsole foam built for energetic push-off.

Naming as philosophy

The name says it plainly: Zen for the calm, connected, natural movement Lems has always championed, and Speed for the road performance to back it up. The ZenSpeeds (SRP $175, $165 for the Lite) target runners and active people of every level who are ready to ditch the overbuilt, overcushioned shoe and return to a natural stride — on the road, in the gym, or simply walking through the city. Both are offered in men’s and women’s, each in wide and medium fits.

A founder’s long arc back to running

The running category is where Lems began. In 2008, founder Andrew Rademacher was a collegiate decathlete who grew frustrated that running shoes ignored the foot’s natural anatomy. He started dissecting his own shoes, cutting away excess material to understand why traditional footwear felt so restrictive. That obsession became the brand’s foundation — even as Lems made its name in casual and outdoor footwear, a running shoe stayed on the long-term roadmap.

“This is a return to basics with a shoe that draws from our traditional philosophy of a simple, uncomplicated design that lets your foot move the way it was intended,” Rademacher said. He framed entering running as a natural next step “to connect with runners who are thinking deeply about how they move and what they’re putting on their feet.”

The wider running debate

The launch enters a category crowded with highly engineered, thick-stacked, disconnected-feeling shoes — the very type Rademacher rebelled against. Lems is betting there is room for a counter-movement: less shoe, more ground feel, a stride closer to how feet are built. Whether mainstream runners adopt it at scale remains the open question, but the positioning is crisp and the timing fits a broader “less is more” curiosity in performance gear.

For Lems, ZenSpeed is the moment a foot-shaped philosophy meets the road. If runners are ready to feel the ground again, the brand may have timed its return perfectly.

Source: Footwear Plus Magazine (footwearplusmagazine.com)

Lems Shoes launches ZenSpeed+ road running collection with a natural foot-shaped last, returning to its founder’s running roots.

[4
1482,1478,1481,1480,1451,1479
post-2911","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-industry-news","tag-foot-shaped","tag-lems-shoes","tag-natural-running","tag-road-running","tag-running-shoes","tag-zenspeed
["GET
