Twisted X Donates Nearly $700K in Footwear to Texas Wildfire Victims

When disaster strikes close to home, some brands talk — and some show up. Twisted X, the North Texas-based footwear company, is firmly in the latter camp. The brand is donating 7,000 pairs of footwear, valued at US$673,418, to people affected by the recent devastating wildfires in North Texas, working through its longtime partner Soles4Souls to get the shoes into the hands of those who need them.

It is a substantial commitment, but for Twisted X it is also part of a much longer habit of showing up.

A local brand answering a local crisis

“North Texas is home for us, and when our neighbors are facing difficult circumstances, we believe in doing what we can to help,” said Prasad Reddy, CEO of Twisted X Global Brands, which counts philanthropy and community among its core values. The donation is being routed through Soles4Souls, the global non-profit that uses its distribution network to place footwear with communities in need.

The scale is striking. To date, Twisted X has donated 77,800 pairs of shoes — more than US$9 million in value — to Soles4Souls, supporting people hit by natural disaster and tragedy around the world. That track record reframes the Texas donation not as a one-off marketing gesture but as the latest chapter in a sustained commitment.

Why footwear matters in a disaster

For families rebuilding after wildfire, the immediate needs are shelter, food and clothing — but footwear is often overlooked until it becomes a daily obstacle. “When disaster strikes, meeting immediate needs for footwear and clothing can make a meaningful difference for families working to recover,” said Buddy Teaster, president and CEO of Soles4Souls. Partners like Twisted X, he added, “continue to step up and help us provide essential footwear to communities when they need it.”

The practicality is real: recovering from a disaster involves walking through debris, relocated shelters and unfamiliar terrain. A sturdy, properly fitting pair of shoes is one of the simplest ways to restore a sense of normalcy and safety.

The brand angle

Twisted X has built a reputation around comfort-driven, lifestyle and work footwear with an eco-conscious twist — and a brand identity that leans into community and western heritage. Aligning that identity with tangible relief work is a natural fit, and it resonates with consumers who increasingly expect the brands they buy from to stand for something beyond the product.

For the broader footwear industry, the episode is a reminder of the quietly large role shoe companies can play in disaster response. Inventory that might otherwise sit in warehouses becomes genuinely life-improving when channelled through organisations with the logistics to deliver. Twisted X’s nine-figure cumulative donation history shows what consistent partnership can achieve.

As North Texas begins the long work of recovery, the 7,000 pairs heading its way are a small but concrete expression of solidarity — and a model of how local brands can be first responders in their own backyards.
