Brunello Cucinelli Tops €1.4 Billion in FY2025, Growing 10% on ‘Humanistic Capitalism’
Brunello Cucinelli has once again demonstrated that slow, deliberate luxury can still deliver numbers. The Italian house surpassed €1.4 billion in revenue in FY2025, up 10.1% to €1,408.0 million, while operating income (EBIT) rose 11.4% to €235.9 million. Gross margin improved to 75.2% from 74.5%, lifting operating margin to 16.8%.
What distinguishes Brunello Cucinelli is not the growth rate but the philosophy behind it. Rather than chase short-term gains, the brand executed a long-term strategy built on craftsmanship, exclusivity and sustainable growth — what founder Brunello Cucinelli calls “humanistic capitalism.”
The geographic balance was striking. The Americas remained the largest region at 37% of revenue (€520.5 million, +9.2%), Europe contributed 35.1% (€494.9 million, +8.4%), and Asia — the fastest grower — reached 27.9% (€392.5 million, +13.7%), led by double-digit growth in China and strength in Japan, South Korea and the Middle East. Retail delivered 11.3% growth to €947.0 million, 67.3% of group sales, with flagship expansions in London, Paris and Los Angeles and new boutiques in Carmel, Macau and Shanghai Pudong. Wholesale grew a solid 7.9%.
During the year the company completed a three-year, €146.2 million programme to strengthen its Made in Italy production network — six months ahead of schedule — expanding Solomeo and adding outerwear sites in Penne and Gubbio. That lifted internal capacity for the next decade, even as it pushed up net debt temporarily.
Brand-building extended well beyond product. The founder received the British Fashion Council’s Outstanding Achievement Award; the documentary Brunello, the Gentle Visionary premiered in Rome and later at New York’s Lincoln Center; and the Third Universal Symposium on Soul and Economics gathered thinkers like Yuval Noah Harari. In January 2026 the brand launched Callimacus, an AI-powered, page-less e-commerce platform built to personalise the luxury experience without diluting exclusivity.
The year was not without noise: a September 2025 short-seller report alleged issues in international distribution. The company denied the claims, reaffirmed EU sanctions compliance and noted all Russian boutiques had been closed since 2022; management said demand was unaffected. Brunello Cucinelli also published its first consolidated Sustainability Report under the EU’s CSRD.
Entering FY2026, management expects revenue to rise around 10% at constant exchange rates, with capex normalising after the manufacturing push. In a luxury market defined by polarisation, Brunello Cucinelli’s blend of purpose and profit remains a quietly radical model.
